16代 永楽善五郎 Eiraku Zengoro 16th (1917-1998)
Succeeded to the name Eiraku Zengoro 16th in 1934. He was the first chairman of the Kyoto Traditional Ceramic Art Association. In 1983, he received the first Kyoto Prefecture Cultural Merit Award. In 1985, he was awarded the Ministry of Education's Regional Cultural Merit Award. In 1986, he was awarded the Kyoto City Person of Cultural Merit. In 1990, he was awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure, 5th class. In 1992, he received the Kyoto Prefecture Cultural Award for Special Merits.
