日 means sun 出 means rise 乾坤 means heaven and earth, universe 輝 means shine.
In short, First sun rise of the new year cleans dark of the last year and the the heave and earth shines by the light.
This is buddhist Zen words, in other words, people sometimes lose their way but if you believe sun of mind,
it will clean dark of mind and let you move in bright side.
