東洲勝月 Toshu Shogetsu (1849-1895)
His real name was Kojima Katsumi and his teacher was Ukiyo-e artist Toshikata. He went by the names Toshu, Toshu, and Katsugetsu. He began his career around 1888 and painted genre pictures such as the ‘Onko Toshiki’ series of three large-format prints, as well as Sino-Japanese war pictures.
