深田直城 Fukada Chokujo Japanese antique art kakejiku kakemono wall hanging scroll / Fan Surface Rising Sun & Wave with Appraised Box A269
Born in Shiga Prefecture. Studied Shijo School under Morikawa Sobun in Kyoto. Later moved to Osaka and became one of the central figures in the Osaka painting world. He participated in numerous exhibitions and won awards. He was most skillful at sea-fish, but also excelled at landscapes and flower-and-bird paintings. His pupils include Hirai Chokusui, Nakagawa Wado, and Katsurada Kojo.
