Nakashima Kiyoshi 中島潔 (b 1943)
Japanese-style painter, picture book author, and illustrator. He specializes in nostalgic children's drawings and fragile women's paintings. Known as a "painter of the wind. In 1971, he went to Paris to study painting for six months, and in 1976, he became independent and freelance. He held solo exhibitions and won the Graphic Prize at the International Children's Book Fair in Bologna in 1987.
