The Kishi school was a school of Japanese painting from the late Edo to Meiji periods, with Ganku as the founder of the school. It formed a major force in the Kyoto art world and produced many painters, including Gantai, the eldest son of Ganku, Kawamura Bunpo, Yokoyama Kazan and Shirai Kayo.
